Susan's Road Trip to California--Continued

This is probably the longest road trip EVER. Before it ends back in Texas next year sometime I will have experienced many things from ecstatic spiritual highs to deep humility and pain. In the end I will come out stronger and knowing more than ever. My TX pastor said it best--I have a great CAPACITY to grow spiritually. If only it weren't so hard to do. If only you could fail alone.

I sent my ballet shoes to Texas to have Robin sew my elastics on. I am a hopeless sewer.

I will be there in a week. I can barely wait. I am practicing dancing on Pointe again.

Cindy sent me a beautiful email yesterday. She is such a neat person and we could REALLY be friends. I hope the other stuff works out okay so it can happen. I could stand it for the year with one good Christian friend.

I noticed a headline in the Tyler paper:

The 2003 Texas Rose Festival, to be held Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 16-19, in Tyler, will celebrate "A Hollywood Salute to Roses and Royalty."

I am going home the weekend of the Rose Festival—where Hollywood meets the South. Perfect.
