One of the most amazing things about the trip and Robin and Steve is the discovery they made Tuesday night. Steve asked Darrell if he would take them to the church; he wanted to see it. So we all went to North Hollywood. I was glad because I had wanted to show Robin my church. Little did I know she had been there. Little did she know it!
Steve has a great memory and as we were sitting there, he suddenly realized that he and Robin has SUNG IN MY CHURCH IN 1976 when they traveled in the music ministry! In fact, the time they wee at the church something had happened in worship that created a breakthrough in the place.
Once Steve started talk Robin remembered too. Then even Darrell knew of the situation. And I sat there, mouth hanging open, amazed—and realizing what that meant. Robin, my spiritual mother, has sown into the very worship ministry in the church that I am going to be a part of worship ministry in. That was 11 years before I ever walked into that building and 19 years before I ever met her. Unbelievable. But God. It was not even just that she had been there but that worship breakthrough had come to the church on that very night… and now to look at it all in context is rather amazing. I think it deepened within me the call of God on my own life—and the plan of God in all that has happened. That was more than a coincidence.
It was neat afterwards because we came back to my apartment and I asked Darrell if he would pray over it and bless it. So the five of us stood here praying. That in itself was a neat time of prayer. We were all praying and as soon as we were done, Terry looked at me and said she had a word from the Lord. (this is the third one in a month—after NEVER getting them!—and they are on the same wavelength). She said that the double doors in my apartment that seems so oddly placed( I have a door into the living room and one into the dining area—and each leads to a set of stairs going down to both sides of the building) are symbolic of the double ministry God is giving me here—that He is doubling my ministry in Los Angeles—opening another door. Everyone just watched her tell me and I stood there listening. When someone is speaking the word of the Lord to me, I freeze and hang on it all—just as I did when Kayellen said what she did about the dance. I take it very seriously. That was a neat way to end a prayer for my new home—and even as Darrell prayed about the people I would have here and Bible studies and stuff I could imagine it. It is a large living room, perfect for having people over---a couch, loveseat chair and dinette area for people to sit. I wonder.
A final amazing thing that happened Tuesday—yes, this blog is still covering Tuesday! Is that on our way to Pasadena my cell phone rang. The BCIS called me (the immigration dept.). The man had read my letter—he said he noticed in my records that I had already become a citizen but he thought I would appreciate a call anyway since I took the time to write a letter. Translate: He just got my letter. It was my first full day of living in Los Angeles and they finally got to my letter. It was another reminder, a reinforcement of what had happened—someone suggested my passionate letters got the action. But they did not even get to them. No, ladies and gentlemen, it was my passionate God.
He is real.
